What is ESN?

ESN Utrecht, or Erasmus Student Network Utrecht, if you want to be formal, is the association for all exchange and international degree-seeking students who are looking to meet other students, learn about the city and this country and of course, party! Our goal is to make every international student feel at home here in Utrecht.

We offer a diverse program, which includes excursions to other cities, parties, international cooking, weekends away, sports, games and social events. If you join our events you will get to know lots of students, both international and local and have heaps of fun! So check out our program under the tab “activities”.

Apart from all the activities, ESN Utrecht is also the place you go to for help and advice about your stay in Utrecht. We can give you advice about the best bars and clubs, transportation and housing and all practical information you would want. For information about your education, you can get in touch with the international office of your school. Check out ‘surviving study’ under the tab ‘student info’ to learn how you can contact the international office.

ESN Utrecht’s organization

We are a non-profit foundation run by volunteering students. Our group consists of about 50 students who put in an effort for ESN Utrecht on a part-time or full-time basis. Of this group, 7 students dedicate one year of their time to form the foundation’s board. They run ESN Utrecht on a day-to-day basis and can be found at the ESN office, every weekday. As a not-for-profit student organisation we make sure that everything we do is both approachable and cheap for our members. We can do this by exclusively using volunteers; no one in our organisation gets paid for his or her work.
